Buttons is an idea that was brainstormed at the recent Brainstorming session. We are posting the details on the forum and are interested in seeing who is interested in working on this project. Be sure to check out the other projects too.

Synopsis: Buttons is a 2D game where you play a douche - who you don't like and don't mind if you get him killed often. The idea of buttons is you control the environment around the douche - not himself, He isn't very intelligent so he'll get himself often. Many different things can kill him so there can be an element of comedy. The idea is that you can control the environment via buttons and navigate him through the level without getting him killed.

We are looking for interested parties in the following areas:
- Project Manager
- Programming Leader
- Art Leader
- Design Leader
- Music Leader

We are also interested in people who want to fill the following positions.
- Programmer
- Artist
- Designer
- Music

If you are interested in getting involved in any of these positions then please post below. If you could include what position/s you are interested in and what skills/attributes you could contribute to the team.

The idea I believe, and Tristan can correct me if I am wrong, is somewhat like lemmings, as such that this idiot will just continually walk, changing direction when he hits a wall, and you have to change the environment around him to get him to the end of the level. You control the environment through a series of buttons at the bottom of the screen - which are not labeled and through trial and error you have to discover what each of them mean. The first button could just squish him instantly!

This game as great potential for comedy, and it is quite an original game idea.

I would ask for the Programming Leader position, but seeing as Tristan will probably build this is Game Maker, and he will probably program most of it, I am going to ask to possibly be a designer, as I can probably come up with a whole lot of hilarious levels for this game.

Jamie :) :)

This is a big 'if', however, if we do get iPhone development kits, I reckon this game would be great for the casual audience - easy enough to make most people grasp, pick it up at any time, funny enough for them to recommend to friends - everyone loves funny deaths!

The complexity of this idea is also less then some of the other ideas that we have had - so it'd be cool to have a launching pad into the iPhone (So its not too hard).

That's just my two cents - so don't take my opinion too serious, feel free to chip in too

I've already made a basic prototype in Game Maker. I'll make a couple more levels and mechanics for it, and if we get some artists interested in this then we can make decisions on whether or not we want to port it to the iPhone.
